School Promotional Video
Video marketing is an important ingredient to any online marketing campaign and is one of the fastest growing marketing strategies currently available. Smart School Websites create a school promotion video that is professionally produced, shot on broadcast quality cameras and edited in industry standard packages.
Promotional & Information Videos
We make our videos fun! We engage staff and students, why not let the English Department help write the script? Drama students can be the leading cast members, the Art Department can make props, Graphics and ICT can make artwork for titles and overlays and food technology can provide the catering! Videos can massively boost morale within a school there can be a buzz and excitement before and during the filming. Why not showcase the video at a cinema night held in the school hall with popcorn and hot dogs?!
We try and get as many staff and students involved as possible, after all it is their school so we see them as key parts of the production.
We use broadcast quality equipment; cameras that are used in HD TV and Film Production to give you stunning HD results. Our flagship camera is our JVC GY HD 850 which is capable of shooting native HD footage in 1440x1080p, combined with 1/2 inch CCD image processing results in crystal clear pictures. Our Canon HD lens completes the package to give impressive image acquisition.
Audio is just as important as video. If no one can hear what is being said then messages are easily lost. For every School Promotion Video we use state of the art radio mics from Sennheiser; the industry standard radio mic kit for TV. These mics allow clear audio to be recorded with as little background noise as possible. When it isn’t possible to use a radio mic we use a mixture of condenser and shotgun microphones from Rode and Sony to capture audio as cleanly as possible. We have boom poles, windscreens and much more to help reduce background noise as much to make your message loud and clear.
The Final Cut
Post Production Editing is where real magic happens. All of the footage, audio and graphics come together to make your final film. We will involved you as much as possible towards the end of this process. We will use our wealth of editing experience to produce a ‘rough cut’ which is usually about 90-95% complete. We then work with you heavily from this point to tweak the final video to ensure it is perfect for your school. When everyone is happy with the final film we will render all the media and produce a DVD and web optimised versions. The web versions can be delivered on your website, YouTube and Vimeo and of course be a major part of your social media campaigns.
Video Portfolio Tool
Our video portfolio tool allows staff, students and parents to create and develop a library of videos throughout their school life, from EYFS to Year 13; staff & students can quickly and easily upload videos via the school website. When a video is uploaded, it can be tagged with a category, such as year group or subject. Once uploaded the teacher associated with the category receives an email to moderate the video. This email also includes a list of students who don’t have photo/video consent.
If the video is suitable then the teacher simply publishes the video and it becomes live in the video library. This video can be shown in multiple areas across the website and be included in electronic newsletters. Parents can log in to view the video portfolio, and when students complete their education the files can be exported and burnt to disk. Staff can also use this tool to build a video portfolio too; subjects such as media, drama and sport can hugely benefit by having a tool that simply documents student progression. When staff upload videos they can tag year groups, classes, subjects and individual students. Ensuring that the correct people are tagged in the correct videos. When a new video is uploaded, students and parents can be notified with a push notification direct to their mobile device.
